I want to sell a Glock 19 to a buddy and was wondering what the procedure is. Does it make a difference that he's LE? Thanks

Some Dealers are the behest of the New York State Police will not accept a handgun from out of State unless its shipped by another FFL, so it's best to make personal contact before shipping anything.

Being in Law Enforcement, the pistol can either be carried on their Badge or issued Licenses. NOTE: If your Buddy is Military Police, he cannot have the Handgun unless he has a NYS Handgun Licenses, PERIOD.

New York, unlike every other State in the Union is incredibly restrictive in that you cannot buy, sell, possess, or otherwise have a handgun without a Licenses, and its easier to get hired on as a Cop than to get it. (many months wait, Fingerprints, background checks, personal references, et.al.)

If its coming to the Watertown/Ft. Drum area, feel free to contact me for further information.

You can send the standard cap mags as well. If your friend is LE, then he is exempt from the magazine restrictions.

But aside from that, its on the individual in NY to determine if he can have the high cap mags. Its not illegal for you to send them to someone in NY, its their problem if caught with them. Many vendors will ship mags over ten rounds to NY.

And most FFL's in NY will only accept a pistol from out of state if it comes from an FFL. Don't be surprised if you are told by the NY FFL you have to have an FFL in Nevada send it.
