I'm pretty sure we have a few successful NY hunters in this forum.  I'd like to learn and be taught by someone who knows.  I got my hunting license years ago and am certified for both firearm and bow.  I've successfully taken duck, goose, and pheasant, but that's it.  I'm interested in deer, bear, and coyote (maybe bobcat and fox), along with some other small game (like bunny and hare).  I've bowhunted and firearm hunted for deer, but was unsuccessful stalking them.

I want to learn to be successful.  I never had a real teacher for big game, and with a baby coming soon, it's time I learned.

I would appreciate any tips.

Hunt.. they do that in NY anymore.. The king hasn't gotten upset with you trying to take his meat.

If was still NY I would offer to help you out but i doubt ill be up there during that time frame to hunt up there.

I hunted in dutchess county (shotgun,pistol,muzzleloader) and ulster county when i did (rifle,pistol,muzzleloader).

Where are you at?

Putnam County, so the southern portion of the state.  I did hunt duck in Watertown years ago, but not looking to make such a long trip.
