I looked in the FAQ's.   He lives in Genesseo.  Turned 18 last week and graduates in June.  I have this .22 gathering dust. What do I have to do
to gift it to him? Does it have to go through an FFL? If so, any recommendations? Thanks in advance for the advise!  (Typing this on a tablet sucks!)

Yeah just needs to go through an FFL so he can pass an NICS check.

What he said.  Are you sure you didn't gift the rifle to your Godson's Dad before the Unsafe Act became law?

Yeah...you gave that rifle to him years ago right? Like in 2012? You've just been holding onto it all this time for him is all.

If that is the case, no FFL required.

Truth is,  I've been holding on to this rifle for him, since he was a baby. I'd. love to do this with as little red tape as possible but, also don't want him to run afoul of the laws. If I can legally send it direct, I will and, be done with it. Is he safe if I do?
