Looks like the old stye, doesn't appear to have bolt hold back. Rifle is in the Rome store but they'll truck it to another store

Wish they sold the lowers for $300-$400...Would make it worth it.

But $500-$600 is just not worth it...I'd rather go with a Thordsen stock at that price.

$720 is a good price for the entire rifle though...especially now that they are out of stock everywhere.

I have a thorsden stock ar15, I've never shot it. I mostly shoot my 223 Troy pump meh.

you know if you live in ny or ca I think if I had it to do over I'd spend the money on a newer ares with the bolt hold back, I think.

I have three of them. All identical. I call them FChuck, FAndy, and FMike. They feel nice, they shoot pretty well. I added the bolt catch to all three, took under a minute, and they function great. I would not hesitate to get another, and I think in new or very good shape, under 800 is a decent deal.

I wondered if you could add the bolt catch, on mine there appears to be a plastic plug in a a lot where the bolt catch would go did you get it from Ares?

Plug slides out when you open the rifle. Might have to give it a gentle tap. Catch unit slides right into the open hole. I put a little blue loctite between it and the receiver to keep it in place when the lower is separated (some slide out more easily than others.)

Yeah they raised their prices. It's gotten to the level of being too expensive, which is too bad, because it's a great option.

if you live in California or NY they kind of have a captive market. Not surprised they are looking to make as much as possible. I didn't buy one for awhile though and only bought this one because it was relatively cheap

Seriously, who thought going from ARES to that was a good idea?

Probably got sick of being asked about when "they" were raided by the ATF (was actually Ares Armor, not Ares Defense.)
