It's time to make your voices heard. Possible proposals for 2017 include, 1. A ban on any urine based deer attractants scents. That means that you would only be allowed to buy scents made up artificially with NO biological scent taken from deer. This is in an effort to further control CWD in NY state. A disease that hasnt shown up since 2005 and even then it was from a deer farm near Westmoreland. 2. Further enforce the ban on feeding wild whitetail deer to include, now get this, writing a person up for deer eating at the person's bird feeder. Go to ENCONs site and review more of 2017 proposals and be sure to tell them how you feel about it. NY state has by and far done nothing but screw it's residents over for years, and it looks like this power trip isn't going to end. It's YOUR outdoors.

Remember to wear your blaze orange citizen, for your safety!!!! plus we can spot you a mile away and have plenty of time to observe your break some of the many laws that are not listed in the hunter's manual, or talked about in the safety courses, so we can generate income to justify our jobs....

Now that's just insane. No way to prevent any animal from coming in to feed on a bird feeder.

It's probably meant for East Long Island homeowners who wants to see deer all over their lawns.

I think we should ALL propose a one year suspension of all activities and salaries of ENCON personnel to see how things would be without their over regulation. It would be a money saving experiment and provide baseline data to see the effectiveness or lack thereof of the organization, to determine future funding levels.

A massive request for this may at least wake up their self preservation instinct and override their arrogance for a time.

CWD is a joke.  The only confirmed cases were in commercial herds and it was never found in the thousands of wild deer they sampled.  The reason it was there was due to DEC issuing special animal permits without any thought.
