Going to be in Albany Thursday and Friday - on Wolf Road. Is there a decent gunshop to visit on Thursday night - something with reloading components and maybe a nice selection of used stuff? Places to avoid? Been to the Pistol Parlor before - is it still open and any good?

Suggestions on places close to Wolf Road to catch the Sabres game if its not on hotel cable?

Planning on shooting up Crossgates Mall?  Apparently that's a "thing" now.

I think B&T changed their name, but might still be on Central Ave.

Sadly, we do not have any good stores with junk bins to rummage through, all the shops are pretty sterile.  NY Shooter Supply is on central ave just a short hop from the bottom of Wolf Road (like, measured in fractions of a mile).  I'm not a re loader but he seems to be stocked up pretty well on niche reloading things and gauges.  Just down from him is B&J guns.  The inventory is meh and the staff is blah, but again, fractions of a mile from Wolf Road.  If you don't mind 25 minutes of driving there's Zacks Sports in Round Lake.  They've got no milsurp right now but they're always fun to browse.  Very friendly people.

Pistol Parlor is no longer open.
Mr. Ott the proprietor passed away years ago, I don't know the particulars... the family closed the store several years later.

Pistol Parlor was my favorite store in the area.

Not much in the way of milsurps... Target Sports is a little bit of a drive, but does have a modicum of used bins, depends what you are looking for.

I scored some black powder accessories, flasks etc. At a real bargain there last year.

If you want to take a nice ride... swing up to Franks Guns, Rt. 30, on the way to Sacandaga lake, it's a cross from the petting Zoo :)

Lots of used guns, great browsing and some good prices too.

There are some private dealers around too... open by Appointment.

They still are and have a second location.

I miss going through J&J's surplus rack, they always had some good milsurp hanging around every trip I made.  Got some really rare mosins outta that place.

Not sure how far you plan on driving, but  if you travel about 70 miles north of Albany, you will find a really sweet shop called North Creek trading post,  located in North Creek . This is a sweet shop with a great  inventory of rifles handguns,  muzzle loading equipment ,  archery, reloading supplies, as well as optics. definitely worth the trip

North Creek sounds a bit far for me, but I'll be over that way again.
Thanks for the good suggestions guys. My plan to fire off a few shots at the mall and then go wash my car sounds like it won't work out now - so visiting some shops will have to do!

Went to NY Shooter Supply, found a PAtrick Hendry grip. Nice shop and was close.
