It's legal because the 2 tubes are considered separate magazines. You should have a look at this one as well:

You may want to avoid doing business with that LGS.

Totally legal.   And, a totally different animal- much different to handle and use than a typical shotgun.

If they have one, get it.  My LGS reports they are hard to get right now.

This has happened a few times, almost always because the user installed a low quality (flimsy) vertical foregrip that either snapped or took a piece of the rail with it (because of a small contact area). I have a vertical grip on mine and I cannot imagine how hard I would have to rack the thing for me to rip it off.

Also, I don't shoot just to see how fast I can shoot and I don't pull the trigger as a reflex. Or, at least, I try not to...no one is perfect.

This is from one such case:

The attorney for the wounded man, seeking technical advice on a lawyers-only website stated, "The properly installed forward grip slid off the gun rail while the user was pumping the gun, resulting in the user shooting off part of his hand."

He continued to say, "Nothing but a polymer nipple secures this grip to the rail -- this nipple partially sheared off during first use."

As for why you'd want a KSG...

This is a nice little comparison, for the sake of some perspective, between the KSG and the SBS 870 that the NYSP carry in their squad cars:

EDIT:

For some reason I can't link images anymore, or maybe it's just this one. Here is the link:  http://www.alloutdoor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/comparison.jpg

Meh, Darwinism in action.

AFG2 works perfectly and IMO much more natural hand position than a broom stick....

This is the one you need. Has a built in vertical grip that won't come off, and the stroke is very short so your hand is nowhere near the muzzle.

No offense, but that's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The KSG is already shorter than most NFA shotguns, and its primary advantage is its massive capacity...so, let's cut that capacity down a lot so that we can chop off the barrel and make it shorter?? This version is a solution looking for a problem.

"Yo dawg, I heard you like short shotguns, so I took your short shotgun and made an even shorter shotgun out of your your short shotgun."

Yo dawg, we heard you like keeping both your hands, so we put a vertical grip that's permanently attached to the gun so you can keep both your hands. Idealy, they'd have a version of the full sized one with the same permanently attached grip.

I dunno, I think a properly trained operator with a KSG makes a damned good home defense element.

Jimmy hammer-the-grip aside, the problem is the short barrel.  Like MP5K.  I wouldn't trust me with an MP5K because it's alien.   The KSG is taking some time to get used to.   That's called responsibility.

"Go ahead Jimmy, stuff that 8 round en bloc clip right in there"

I saw it on gunbroker but I was shooting for getting one for $600-$650 shipped. I think it ended up being $700 shipped.

Buffalo gun center wants 899 for a OD. 799 I think for a black.
