If you go out opening day, you have a death wish. Fucking Fudds will unload on any sound or movement, even if it's a person. Lost a buddy from high school that way

I'm on private land with 12 guys - 10 of whom I know.
I trust most of them with firearms but am on higher ground than the rest. |

Its the only Saturday through the whole year I have to work, the one before thanksgiving.
With any luck I will get out in the afternoon, looking forward to the four days off next weekend! |

I double lunged a 6 point and he still ran 150 yards. All down hill. 12ga Hornady American Whitetail. First deer!

I feel like the Spetsnaz proved it's worth on soft tissue over the years, so I kinda felt like it was a great round if it was properly placed. Spread was 16 and 1/8 BTW. Called processor and he measured for me. But as my grandpa says: Hunt for meat, not bones!" |

I let a 5 pointer walk this morning even though he gave me a great shot at around 50 yards. I'm in the 3 point restriction and he met it, but he was really small. I took a decent size 7 pointer opening day of bow. If I see him again, he's done.

Got a medium sized 4 point. I'm not a trophy guy by an stretch, it's all about meat in the freezer and I don't get to go out much, so I'm happy.

Got this guy at 8AM this morning in 3A, up on the ledges of a mountain.
After I shot him, I heard him fall, not far away. I eased over there, found him and leaned rifle on a tree and peeled off some gear. Then I heard something behind me, look and see a wide 6Pt strolling by, not a care in the world. Maybe I just shot his competition? Great morning on a beautiful day!   |

sadly I wasn't able to break in the 6.8 today, saw one decent buck that I would have shot but was out of range, only spotted two small doe after that. Didn't hear nearly the same number of shots that I have the past two years |
