Oh yea, they tell Soldier all the time that asking for "help" will NOT effect your career...neither will being homosexual, Christian/Evangelical, Political, etc.
The Mental Health "professionals" employed by the VA as well as active duty Officers in the field often leave much to be desired.....there was one up here a few years back that really wasn't interested in what you had to say unless it involved sex, then his interest was piqued. Seems there's always a job opening in the Medical profession when it comes to .gov
It's not too difficult to believe there's a vested interest between pharmaceutical manufacturers and the Veterans Administration: Keep 'em on pain-pills and/or SSRI's until they expire, imprisoned, or finally free.
SEAL teams, Rangers, SF, etc. can inflict a massive amount of damage with little external help and short of the damage can go relatively undetected. There has been a constant recruitment for service members to join, as well as a large attrition rate: The folks calling the shots know these people are generally "patriots" and want to be "left alone" to live their lives without having a nose poked into their business, which makes them dangerous to those who would gladly sell off our freedoms and futures to line their own greedy pockets.
