So i have a few Ar's now and i have been itching to build an AK from a parts kit(i have an SKS already lol)

so my thoughts were

Ak builder kit with the U.S. barrel(partially set barrel pin)
NDS ez-1 receiver
all the other rivets and such, tapco g2 for 922r etc

now for compliance, get right of the bayonet lug(dremel), run a permanent thread cap.

then take a grip adapter and run an FRS stock instead of a pistol grip, and then use a dummy buffer tube for cheek weld.

Or this. Saiga trigger sucks though and the buttstock is super long.

vz 58 with pinned 10rnd mag would be nice.
it'd be like an SKS with a pistol grip, loads with stripper clips.

i had the same thought when i was trying to figure out what i was going to do.. i didn't want to spend for the ugly stick but i thought of it as an option.

The monster grip sucks unless your bench shooting. Try standing up and shooting its very unnatural. you cant get a great grip on it.

The winner is really is the saiga.

Before I sold my AK, I cut the slant brake (which was already pinned and welded) flush so it was just a cap and I filled my thumb hole stock which did away with the pistol grip. It was a lot of work, doesn't look pretty, but made it unsafe act compliant.
Here's how it started:

Filled and primed

painted and ready to go

Why even bother, it looks impractical to hold, not to mention hideous. You should've just dismantled it, covered it in cosmoline, and put it away for a rainy day!

All of the above are correct statements, I said it didn't look good. It may be impractical to hold, look like s---, but it sure beats the hell out of packing it in cosmoline and not using it. I would rather sell it then. I can always change it back when we win the lawsuit and get our rights back. In the meantime, I can still legally use it and enjoy it. Everybody is free to do whatever they want, I'm not judging anyone, so don't judge me.

You tell me! Should we just sell everything, hide them and never use them, or even better, maybe we should just register everything we have like they want us too. We're fighting the fight in the courts now in hopes to get our rights back. In the meantime, if there is a way to stay compliant and still use our rifles, I don't see why we shouldn't.

Not worth the hassle saiga kills two birds with one stone.  Plus if we ever get back out rights you can convert a saiga if you want too

I wish someone did too, it would of saved me a lot of time. There was a lot of additional work that needed to be done to this stock just to get it to match up with the AK receiver. Look at the first picture where it mounts to the receiver and then look at the second picture. I had to mold the whole thing. It was a real big pain in the azz, not to mention filling the thumb hole. I have an extra stock which I would sell if someone feels like giving it a try.
