   I was a Police Officer for twenty years in the City of New York. My last ten years spent as a gang investigator, investigating shootings and stabbings almost exclusively, within Manhattan.
   My only observation of the S.A.F.E. – Act, is that it has NO bearing on reducing violence, but was passed by “progressive” politicians (read communist, totalitarian, et.al) with the sole intent on protecting themselves from an armed citizenry.
   Where there were once hundreds of thousands of law abiding, armed, citizens who would “back up” their local Police Officers in the event of a large-scale emergency, since the passage of the S.A.F.E. –Act, there are now hundreds of thousands of armed citizens who have rejected the S.A.F.E. –Act, and now view their local and state Police Officers as little more than an armed, local gang, controlled by enemies of the United States, who will eventually have to be “dealt with”.
   My most amusing (and frightening) observation of the aftermath of the passage of the S.A.F.E. –Act, has been the reaction of approximately one-fifth of Police Officers themselves…  Lieutenants, Detectives, Police Officers, though a small percentage, have since reported in casual conversation, of recording of personnel levels, license plates, (both personal and official) of state and federal law enforcement officials, D.A.’s, Judges, U.S. Attorneys, elected officials and their families, in both public and clandestine locations, for….well…., just in case.
   Why? Because they are ALL potential enemies of the United States as viewed by those who take seriously, their oath to “Support and defend the Constitution of the United States, against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC.”
   Most painful in the last several years has been the notion, “How do I explain it all to my children”? How do I countenance the utter lawlessness of our elected elite, who’ve taken the same oath that I, and behaved criminally? The fact is; I shall explain NOTHING. They will observe their father, acting proactively, and forcefully….If only GOOD men would do SOMETHING.
   We are now, without “Rule of Law”. The gun owners of New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Jersey would do well to develop “Government in a box”.  
   They may well find themselves in a position to meet payroll for thousands, when all they ever wanted was to be left alone. But, HEY…We didn’t fucking start it.
