One week after the arrest of Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, we have new information on what the U.S. attorney meant when he told reporters to "stay tuned" for new developments in his investigation of state government.

WNBC is reporting that Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos is under criminal investigation.

Sources close to the investigation tell WNBC that the U.S. attorney is looking into Skelos' ties to the real estate industry.

Skelos, a Republican from Long Island, has not been charged with a crime.

Neither Skelos nor the U.S. Attorney's Office commented for the WNBC report.

Silver denies the accusations that he took $4 million in bribes. He is stepping down as speaker, however, while the investigation continues.

And how come none of the media rats are not shoving their microphones and cameras in front of Rob Astorino's face to hear what our next gov has to say?

Soooo, all the channels will shove "snow storm" reports down my throat very 10 minutes for a week before and 3 days after doomsday, that turned out to be nothing we don't see daily. But I have to look for the fall of NY corruption stories? Glad the ass raping in taxes I took this year are going to good use, like keeping media paid off.

on a semi related note, senator Libous' son was convicted in federal court last week of income tax evasion as part of the alleged scheme his father had put together to pad his son's income. We'll have to see if the senator decides to roll the dice at trial as well.

This is a state government hunt it seems, not really fed. or city. Not to say those folks couldn't be involved (DiBlasio seems unlikely), but Preet seems to be going after the NYS governmet corruption.
