Syracuse was my father's hometown.  He grew up on Livingston Avenue (706 to be exact).  That being said, all the family and anyone associated with us left Syracuse decades ago and never looked back.  One of my uncle's who lived on West Pleasant off South Salinas near the school moved out in the early 1970's.  He and a cousin were the last holdouts.

They're already in Syracuse - miss my friends there, but not the city (except Shifty's on Burnet) - Syracuse needs to wither up and blow away, like all dog shit.

From Google Streeview pictures, it looks it!  I was 12 back then (1974) and already the writing was on the wall for that area.  He moved to Tampa.

Between this nonsense and our handling of Ukraine I don't hold a lot of optimism for where we're headed as a nation.

Equivalent to a Canary in a Miner shaft. When the air is bad the Carney in the Miner suffocates. I wonder what the pensions and salaries look like for the PD, teachers and other city workers in Syracuse? Do you think poor management and an unrelenting sense of entitlement by the public sector created the situation in Syracuse? I think maybe a review of the state controllers web-site may give us an indication of the abuse of the taxpayer by the government system which has created a desperate situation for the city. Thus the Miner and the canary scenario but a desperate gasp of air to a struggling decaying, nearly dead city and who suffers the most are the citizens of America and the City of Syracuse and its people.

It's bizarre.  Joanie is more in cahoots with FUAC than Miner(Obama wannabe) is.

Not surprised.

I was recently told that one hotel in upstate NY (not in syracuse) was called up some time ago by government agencies who thought the hotel had closed.  Apparently they were seeking places to house illegals (or the minors at least).  Thing is tho, IIRC this happened well in advance of the recent news stories.

So they've been prepping this a long time I think.

Was not my place, I'm sure I get illegals but the circumstances are much different.
