HOLY FUCK BATMAN

AR15.com as a PLAINTIFF?

AWESOME BEYOND AWESOME

ETA:

Damn, the legalese is giving me a raging boner.  I just wish I could see the NAMES of CuHomo and all the state legislators that voted for it listed personally as defendants.

Amazing how you can fucking HATE lawyers one day, and LOVE them the next.

Hey Cuomo, I hope they burn you down!

So I know we'd all like the entire piece of shit legislation overturned, but I'm curious as to what the attorneys think regarding each section of the law.  Are there certain sections they feel are more likely to be struck down than others?

Is William J. Greagan the led attorney in the case? Reading his profile on the firm's website shows that he is highly intelligent but has no experience in either firearms law or constitutional issues that I can see. He seems to be mostly a liability and environmental attorney.

Awesome! Time to break out your checkbooks gents.

NYSRPA has a link on their website where donations can be made directly to the LDF; Lawsuits arent cheap and this one certainly isnt going to be brief. Lets all get behind this 100% because it may be our only chance to actually stop what Cuomo is trying to do.

This concerns me.  We need heavy hitters on this one.

I found this curious as well.  Although he does seem to have experience with municipal and governmental liability - as in 1983 suits - I wonder if that is good enough?  Of course, he is a partner, and would theoretically be the lead attorney for a team of them -

Please, let's not second guess the leadership here. Those filing the suit have their shit together and are not cutting corners anywhere as they have as much or more to loose as the rest of us.
As Adirondack47 said; it's time to break out the checkbook.

I think AR15.com is a plaintiff because the NY SAFE law impacts its ability to do business (selling lowers, magazines, etc.).  Those are some of the injuries listed in the Notice of Claim.  As awesome as it is to feel that we are directly represented in this lawsuit as members of ARFCOM, I don't think that's the case.

That also doesn't mean we should not support the lawsuit.  I think every member on here should pitch in to the LDF!

I'll tell you how it works in my firm.  Typically the senior partners sign off on filings/pleadings like this.  We will use all our lawyers to draft and research, and just because he's the signature doesn't mean he will write the complaint/brief, or even argue during the hearings.  I wrote a 30 page brief last month where my name only appears as of counsel, and the partner signed off.  Not a big deal, and I wouldn't worry about it.

He will have all the help he needs re: firearms law if necessary from the associations.

Excellent news.

Has the group courted the Second Amendment Foundation or will SAF be bringing their own suit?

ETA: And $200 is donated to NYSRPA.  Platinum membership was re-upped.  More where that came from too!

Thanks, couldn't find a private email during the last year of lurking to register. Had to buy a damn website to get the non-private email address.
