I remember seeing a post on here somewere from a guy in Commiefornia that posted an odd looking stock that was Commiefornia compliant. The grip bend upwards and became the stock. Search for some Commiefornia compliant AR stocks and you should find something.
Here are some I found: CA-AR15 Brownells Soemone will shortly be coming out with a NY compliant model soon, or just make the CA version GTG in NY. I don't know all of the details of the NY law, but from what I understand, they modeled it after the CA law. |

Seriously, what's ugly are laws that restrict the cosmetic features of perfectly good semiautomatic rifles. Try banning features of a modular rifle platform, and the market will respond with legal workarounds that just bolt right on. The brain-dead anti-gun legislators just never learn. They didn't learn in 1994-2004, and they never learn at the state level either. Yes move to a free state if you can, but if you can't, or until you can, you gotta deal with it somehow. The more black rifles that get built, whether configured ban compliant or not, the harder they are to ban in a post-Heller world. Ultimately the bans will get struck down. Meanwhile, pray for the continued good health of the SCOTUS Heller 5. Back to the OP, for NY-SAFE compliance we recommend either the Type I or Type II configurations. Note you can use the buttstock of your choice on Type I. Type I: 
For Type II we have found the ACE ARUL-E stock is the best solution, for obvious reasons:
