The bottom pic shows what I'm thinking. Is that good to go for AWB compliance?

Also, would cutting that with a hacksaw while on the barrel change the FSB alignment?

Looks a bit odd and serves no purpose other than to snag on things. You might as well keep going and mill the whole thing off.

Just the standard thin cut one will work, check out this thread about 2/3rds of the way down for an example.

That would just snag on things. Hacksaw can remove all of it, dremil is quicker, cut off wheel on 4.5inch grinder is the fastest and easier to get straight cuts.
Handy little carbine. The M44 is a combination flash bang grenade, flame thrower, rifle and spear all in one.

It wont snag anymore than a FSB with lug.

Why not just drill a hole and drive in a denial pin?

Actually that is a better idea. Instead of taking off metal, why not ADD some? A good welder would be able to do this for you.

Add enough that would prevent a bayo from being put on. This way, if you wanted to sell at a later date, the buyer could just take a grinder to it and get his bayo fix.
