Apologies for the delay(s) in getting information out on this, but we do want to make it a unique event vs. just a few people showing up at the track.
That said, we're still in the planning process and so feedback and ideas are welcome. Here's what we're currently looking at: PROPOSED DETAILS ======================= DATE: October 21, 2017 TIME: 6pm-whenever LOCATION: Dallas Karting Complex, Caddo Mills, TX ATTENDANCE: 300 participants Considering a 21 and over age limit due to late hours and the potential for alcohol to be served (TBD) FORMAT: 3 Qualifiers (15 karts per session) + 1 Final Race (24 karts) There will be 2 weight classes, divided by attendance (i.e. half light, half heavy whatever the weight # turns out to be) That means you will race in 3 races for your weight class, and the top 24 will race in a final race in each class There will be 15 karts per session in order to keep things flowing (while 15 are racing, 15 are getting ready to go out) COST: $100 to include 3 qualifiers, food and a raffle ticket and maybe a shirt. $25 for non racers to cover food and a raffle ticket? SIDE EVENTS: Lights Out Race - all lights are out on the track and drivers will use NV - this will be a side race that will be optional if we can make it happen. Vendor tents - display of firearms products Raffles - prizes will be awarded, to include firearms and accessories Silent Auction - may have some special items in an auction Vehicle Display - looking at having some military/LEO vehicles there for display Entertainment - If I'm not mistaken, our very own Subnet has agreed to emcee the event LODGING: There will be onsite camping / RV spaces available and local (Greenville, TX) hotels will have rooms blocked for us. OBJECTIVE: Our goal is to have a great time, and a cool event. Once we cover expenses, all proceeds will go to a good cause, TBD. So that's what we're looking at. Feel free to suggest some ideas. Date is pretty firm as we're juggling a lot of schedules; I understand that it may not work for everyone. Other than that we're working on putting together details, sponsors, food and drink, and side events. If you have ideas or contacts that might be interested in participating, donating, or sponsoring, have them contact me or BCV (who's help is greatly appreciated!). Ideas and suggestions can be posted in this thread. We'll put together something more formal for sponsors in the near future. Once we have more of the details ironed out, we'll post and update the OP so info is easily available. We plan to make tickets available as the date gets closer, so there's no argument about what it includes and how things will run. Date for ticket sales will be posted well in advance. |

Work on the deuce starts this weekend. Found a route to take and it looks like 2 hours 45 minutes running flat out to get there.

Wow - I misread this as a casual HTF get-together sort of thing. 300 folks? Dang.

Who is providing the NV for the Lights out race? And will there be MZB's shooting at us with paintball guns? |

Do they have something to fit under a racing helmet? Or is this truly a Darwinian opportunity? (I've been hit with stuff on track that managed to sneak past the front edge of the window net hard enough to leave a bruise through my suit. View Quote |

Have not been in the HTF in a while so this is the first I am seeing of this. Went out there for the first time last weekend. Sounds like a blast. I am in for the shenanigans.
Dammit! Just checked the calendar and we have tickets to Bob Seger that night. BCV maybe we can meet out there sometime. Been a while since we have hung out. |

Spoke to Andrew at Lone Star Armory today.
He is gonna donate a prize. |

[#38]
I will be trying to make it.
Just one question. I may or may not have friends that would be interested in the event, but they don't have an ARFCOM account. Would the event be open to them. |

I won't be able to attend due to work.
Will I be able to purchase a raffle ticket and donate the meal to any first responder that shows up? I'm in the same town as Edward and could get the cash to him. |
