Went to DFW this weekend to do some used car shopping.  It was mostly hell like used car shopping always is, but we did find a neat place for lunch:

Goodfriend in the Casa Linda area.  Good covered patio, decent beer selection, interesting burgers.

I tried the Alamo: a burger topped with brisket, avocado, jalapenos, queso and tortilla strips.

Wife tried the Chevo: fried goat cheese ball, pepper bacon and chipotle sauce.

I thought they were pretty good burgers, and the patio was a nice break from sleazy ass car shopping.  If you haven't been, check it out.

Damn, looks awesome!

Love avocado on burgers...

I'll have to add them to the list of places to try, thanks OP!

Goodfriend is a solid place to eat in East Dallas. It can get crowded in the evenings. Seems that a lot of other restaurants are trying to follow Goodfriend with copycat offerings and beer selections.

Anything made with brisket, sausage, corned beef, bacon at Goodfriend is made in house. Very good stuff if you seek out those items on the menu that contain those custom in-house items. If you appreciate good bacon/pork belly this is a great place.

Gots to vote for Flying Saucer on Ray Hubbard.  Patio View, Great Beers and The Duke burger.  Just try it.
