Dumping RI for Mckinney.

We did 3 recon. trips in a little over 2 years.

Just got back here at the end of Feb to pick a school district/neighborhood.

Frisco schools and we are all most there on the neighborhood.

I'm very excited and optimistic. I looks like I will be all right in Tx.
At least that is what we think from what we saw.

I have family in real estate there that came down 11 years ago.

If we made the move then, I  think anything I left on the table here would have been more than made up for by now.

I enjoy Market Street at Eldorado and Ridge for their breakfast bar and burritos.

Hard Eight was awesome for tbe the BBQ.

Still haven't been to Rudy's yet.

Not sure where you are looking, but we landed in West McKinney  18 months ago and love it.  School for the kids is awesome.   All the kids are in the neighborhood, and my oldest has all of his school friends a short bike ride away.   Being close to Custer makes commutes a little less of a pain.  Welcome.

There is.

McKinney traffic is only going to get worse. However if you are looking at Frisco schools, you are on the west side south of 380. I had a house in that area, Frisco schools but in McKinney. It was just north of El Dorado.

Home inspection and appraisal were done this week.

Start packing.

No exit tax here if you live in RI up until you close on your home.

If I were to get my license and register my truck in Tx when I was there in February then they would screw me.

If I'm not an RI resident at the time of the closing the state would hit me with a 6% tax on the sale of my home.

Is that supposed to encourage people to not leave RI? That would only encourage me even more to leave a place like that.

You know those guys that have to take a new job or their company relocates them at the drop of a hat?

Those guys take it on the chin to tone of 6%.

If they take residency in another state before the closing they get wacked.

This state is joke. That's why the only ones left will.be the state unions and the FSA.

The mayor of Providence is about to solidify our sanctuary city status with some new laws.
One part of the law doesn't allow local cops to participate in any immigration work.
Good RI you'll need it.

As I sit here in the backyard.
My dog is running to me with his ball to throw it.
My other dog (the wanderer) is on his leash.
The sun is at my back.
The air is cool but comfortable.
And the sign on the front lawn says SOLD!

I am about to embark on the 2nd largest undertaking I have voluntarily embraced. The first is starting a family (this is lifetime of commitment).

My family and I are moving from RI to Texas.

I look around to see all the things I have grown accustom to. The good and the bad.
The people I care for, friends and family.

The home I have worked on to keep a roof over our heads for the last 24 years.

As I enter the final weeks of this chapter. It's more like I'm finishing one story and beginning another.
What words of guidance can you guys offer?

It's funny how you can feel so many different ways about something that I know will be one of the best things to do for me and mine.

Welcome to Texas.
I'm just up 75, right across the county line.
Check out Hutchins BBQ on Tennesse just off of University (hwy 380) for your next smoked meat fix. Keep an eye out here for the monthly McKinney area meet up.

BTW: unless you are at a Jimmy Buffett concert, tennis shoes, shorts, and a cowboy hat are a fashion no-no.

Shame you have your heart set on McKinney. I know where you could get a steal on a house on the south end of Ft Worth. 3br, 2 bth, office, laundry rm, attached 2 car gr, and brand new roof on a corner lot with streets on 3 sides.
