Well my fellow Texas Arfcommers, I am planning another camping trip to my dad's place in Smithville April 27-30th. All are welcome to attend. I had a few Arfcommers out there last October and we had a blast shooting and hanging out by the campfire. I have a couple of tree stumps that need to be removed and have Tannerite for the job.

I would love to come out and actually hang out this time if I don't have any classes to teach that weekend.

My dad enjoyed having everyone come out last time. He said everyone is welcome.

The place is down in Smithville, Texas it is about 30 miles east of Austin. I'll IM the google earth location to anyone interested in going since his address does not match up with GPS.

I'd be interested, been wanting to go camping for a while, would probably get there late Friday.

I may be able to swing time off on this one.
Thanks for having the ARFcom gang back out again... BIGGER_HAMMER |

I was planning on it but have LTC classes to teach Friday , Saturday and Sunday.

Hope you have good weather for it. We'll be at the Ride for Kids at Lake Conroe instead and see they are predicting rain there. I guess any time we get down that close to Houston, they are predicting rain.. Dated a gal from Smithville a million years ago and always enjoyed that area. Have fun!

I was planning on it myself, but family is coming to town from all over... So does not look like I'll get to play this weekend.

That's too bad you guys can't make it. I make a trip every April and October so there will be more opportunities for shenanigans.

It was fun last time. I've got to get new tires so I can't make it.

I am out, working and car was stolen , got it back View Quote Just made it here. To anyone that I sent the pinned location to just come on out. The cell phone signal is shitty back up at the campsite. When you get here just honk your horn and yell we'll be able to hear you. |

Just got home from my fathers, other than being rained on last night, had a great time. @The_Hammer brought out his steel targets and we got to ring steel at night using my night vision and DBAL-i2. Made an impressive light show at night with the 5.56mm hitting steel. Good food good company and got some pistol practice in for the upcoming Cola Warrior competition this June. My brother brought his girlfriend out. I got to teach her a short little pistol class and by the end of her 1st mag she was ringing from 30 feet.

Your going to cost me a LOT of money after that night shoot I feel sorry for everyone who couldn't make it as they missed out on a great time. Hopefully I'll have more rifle targets and some fresh tannerite. |

[#28]
There's just something badass about being able to hit your target in complete darkness. The cool factor is definitely off the charts!

Wish I could have made it. I would have brought out my PVS-14 and atpail-C. Night shooting steel is kick ass.
