Tiger valley will have a Open Shoot March 25-26.  Shooting starts at 9:00am and ends at 4:30pm on the 1000 yard KD range.  When shooters arrive they will make the decision as to whether they want to work the "pits" or use steel targets that are already on the safety berm.  Shooters must attend the safety brief at 9:00 to qualify to shoot during this open shoot.

We have a caliber restriction of no .50's.  Shooting will start at the 100 yard line and as shooters get their data, they will move back.  This is a Marine Corps 1000 yard range, which means that everyone has to move back at the same time yard line to yard line.  Unless of course you don't mind everyone shooting over your head.  Just kidding.....

Cost per day is $50.00

Sounds like fun. It is a 2 hour drive for me.

How much time will be spent at each position?

You will have 8 yard lines and eight hours to navigate them.  Bottom line it's up to the group as to how long they want to spend at each yard line.  Hitting a 19 inch IPSC, or E- target at 200 yards isn't much of a challenge unless your using your pistol.  I can see times at the further distances increasing with the complexity of the shot,

So if we opt to shoot steel, theoretically it'll go faster, right? We won't get feedback as precise as we'd get shooting paper, but we won't have to split into two groups so folks are in the pits.

Just looking at the weather. Gonna get windier and possibly wetter as the day goes on.  I still have mud on my boots from the last time I was there in 2003...

Yes. We shot steel last time I went and it still took a few hours to go from 100-800yds. But, it really depends on how squared away the shooters are.

Made it out today......Had a blast 1st time going to 1000 ended up hitting the steel on 1st try once we got to the 1000 yard line.  This is the nicest shooting facility I have ever been to, got there a little early to walk around and check it out.   Now I am trying to decide which training class I want to take 1st.

Even got to try out some belt feeds and still grinning ear to ear. pics will be posted tomorrow.

If you have a chance to make it out tomorrow I will say it was well worth the drive and you would not be sorry it really is a great place to shoot. If I had ammo ready to go I would go again tomorrow

Maduce Thanks again for a great time and thanks for letting us trying out the MG will be back soon.

Glad you guys had a good time.  To bad you didn't get to shoot off the tower.  The wind was only 35 mph off the top....

I took a few pics but have been busy with life and work to post them until now. Thanks again TJ.

I had to take a pic of my 900yd group with my 6.5C. I need to true my ballistic app now.
