Ok so I am pulling the plug on Verizon/Fios/Frontier, whoever the hell they are (they are ripping me off--I can't even get a monthly price on their freaking website).

What I am looking for: cost/reliability--speed really isn't an issue anymore  everyone has enough bandwidth to download porn, play online, and surf gun shops simultaneous.

Looking for something that just works and leaves me the hell alone.  What are the options out there

We have Suddenlink and have been happy with them. Rate was a Promo rate for a year I believe, went up once which I knew it would and hasn't gone up since. I think I pay $50 for a 50mb/10mb connection

What town are you in and I will see if we cover you there.

Frontier is giving us all kinds of problems. Had Verizon FIOS for ever no problems. The switch sucked. I don't think we have any options in our area :/

I recently switched over to Spectrum in south Fort Worth. It's $41.23 a month and has no contract or data cap. Haven't had any outages yet.

I generally get about 110 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up. Plenty fast for several computers to be streaming video at the same time. I'm not a gamer.

I've been looking to make a switch in Quinlan. Heard of a company called Skywave. Anyone know anything about them?

It is ultimately who owns the wire. No matter who the service "provider" is, in general Covad owns the wire and the equipment that will actually be transmitting packets to you.

Don't know who owns the cable, fiber, or if the Wireless share infrastructure or not.
