Well I was planning to go out to Magnum Shooting Range in Sanger, TX tomorrow to sight in my Elcan but it turns out the owner decided to close down until January 4th

From a quick google search I came up with absolutely zero solid options for an outdoor rifle range in the Dallas area. Are there any that y'all are familiar with that would be a good place to shoot (not forced to sit down on a bench)?

I go there for 5 stand shooting but I hate the rifle range. It's only 100 yards and you are forced to sit down while shooting.

It pretty neat how the long stuff is laid out.

Berms every 50 yards or so....starting at 250 ( I think). They are sorta staggered and the 600 is kinda half in the woods. Google earth it. Metal targets all over the place.
Some 18x18, some 8" rounds.....some swingers, etc. Its a lot of fun out there. Those that go out there are pretty decent outside of the "know it alls". Some fancy rifles show up, and then idiots like me that show up with a 16" DPMS and gong targets out to 550.......Not sure they will like my GD style spotting calls on the next go around......"Where did that one hit?"...ME: "Why are you shooting at the 800?" Them: "I was shooting at the
600!" Me: Well, you missed but you hit 2" low and to the left at the white 800.........then laughter"

That went over pretty well last week

That place looks great.  I'll have to remember to my soft points when I go north.

Yeah that killed it for me. No way I'm going to a range that won't let me shoot FMJ.

If you look right here.....

This is where the covered firing line is......this is an outdated map.

there are many berms here now.

That is the 200 line, and the 100, 50, 25 , pistol line, and Proshop.
From the pavement, left is to that area, right takes you to the skeet area, go towards the dot, and that is the 250-800 yrd area

I've never heard of this place. And I live 20 miles away. And I've driven by it a dozen times in the last 6 months. Guess I know where I'm going when I wanna shoot over 500.

I enjoy shooting at quail Creek but they don't allow fmj on the rifle range. Not a big deal to me as a hand loader but may turn others away. Nice staff and a lot of the riff raff I've seen at elm fork don't go there

How busy is it on the 800 days and do you have to wait on a lame? Is there a limit on how long you can use the lane before giving it up?
