<p style="text-align:center">OFFICIAL THREAD</p>
With this being ARFCOM's 20th year, we wanted to do something special. Rather than simply celebrating our own existance, we wanted to give something back. With training budgets nearly nonexistent for departments across the country, these groups do not have the funds for education and practice. Combined with the increased violence against officers everywhere, we wanted to do our part to help. With the help of the fine folks at Progressive F.O.R.C.E. Concepts (one of the best training groups I have ever come across) we decided to host a local LEO training weekend and also a fundraiser/raffle for the Dallas Police Association Assist The Officer Foundation. So we have two components. First, we will be offering a 2-day carbine training curriculum for officers: And also we will be running a raffle to raise funds for the foundation: If you are an officer in any law enforcement department in the DFW/East Texas area, please register register by December 1, 2016. Slots will be awarded by lottery, and students will incur no costs. Everyone else can help by buying raffle tickets for only $5. We will continue to update the prize list, and are actively looking for additional prize donations for the raffle. Winners will be announced (live?) during the training event December 10th. This is just our small way of showing our appreciation and thanking the officers that put their lives on the line for us each and every day. *** Dallas Police Benefit Raffle Update *** Due to the overwhelming generosity of companies and law enforcement supporters in our community who continue to donate incredible prizes, we will be extending the window to buy tickets and enter this raffle. The raffle drawing will now take place on January 19th during the PFC Loadout SHOT Show Party at the Venetian Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Join us at 7:00 PM Pacific Time to see all the winners announced live via the PFC Training Facebook page. More updates to come! Someone said the raffle link was not working...
It should be this: https://www.pfcloadout.com/collections/gear/products/dallas-police-benefit-event-raffle-tickets but it's working fine for me from OP. If anyone has any problems, let me know. We appreciate all the support and the offers to help. At this point I think we're GTG, but will definitely let you know if anything changes. |

No update? I don't want to sound like a downer... View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes @zegermanznew No problem there. Update is coming out in tomorrow's newsletter. Join us at 7:00 PM Pacific Time to see all the winners announced live via the PFC Training Facebook page. but this was a pretty shady raffle. . . But then you went there... It's one thing to ask about the status, but it's another thing entirely to imply some sort of negative intent, particularly when it involves people who value their word and their principles above all else. I have pretty thick skin, so I don't mind you calling me out on anything, but when you start dragging others into "fake news" then you'll get my attention. PFC created and managed this fundraiser, and there was absolutely nothing 'shady' about it to warrant that comment. If you were to actually visit the place where we said it would be announced, you'd see that the entire drawing was posted live (and actually started 20 min early). Here is a link to the video of the drawing: PFC Facebook Page : Drawing Video Appreciate all who participated in any capacity and all who were a part of this fundraiser. Over $7000 was raised for a great cause. |

Well I'm glad it went well and a solid amount was brought in. Please forgive my abrasiveness, perhaps shady was a poor word to use.
The raffle started right here in this thread (well, the GD thread that linked to this thread). The drawing date got changed which was about the oddest thing I'd ever heard of for a raffle. It was for a good cause and by good people and I can understand wanting more involvement, but you gotta admit that on my end that's kind of weird. If it wasn't AR15.com & Mr. Avila it would have thrown up the first red flag, but given who it was and where I am I didn't think anything of it. Honestly, if it wasn't this site or for this cause I'd probably have asked for my money back because that's just a really weird ping on my radar. Its been so long I actually completely forgot about the raffle, it came to mind last night and I searched for this thread only to find nothing new in it and the drawing date passed by almost two weeks (I didn't re-read the OP and forgot most of its substance in the passing months). Since this was the origin of the whole thing I'd have expected to find some sort of update or a thanks for a successful fundraiser or something. But the lack of an update threw up a second red flag for me and, I'm sorry if it upset anybody, warranted at least posting the question. I admit I got ahead of myself with the "shady" comment and for that I apologize, I should have awaited response first. I hope this post sheds some light on why it felt that way yesterday when I returned to this thread. Anyhow, I'm glad it was a success. I hope a lot of good officers get some quality training and have a good time as a result. See ya when the next cause comes up @EdwardAvila . . |

No problem and thanks for your, and everyone else's, support!
I too apologize for the bite back, but these are all great people who go out of their way to help others, so I hate to see anyone try to in any way imply any wrong-doing on their behalf! The reason the date got pushed back was because a number of companies wanted to pitch in and donate product near the end, and everyone thought all participants would benefit from the increased prize package. Doing it at SHOT also meant the president of the receiving organization could be present at the drawing (since he was attending SHOT and PFC is based out of Vegas). So for those reasons the date was chosen, and rather than have a party, PFC chose to offer another day of free training for LEOs at their facility, which is where the drawing was held. This afforded the opportunity to lay out all the prizes and have attendees donate one last time, as well as he chance to do the drawing live in a controlled environment. Not posting an update since then in the thread is entirely my fault, and I apologize for that; |
