I'm looking to stock up and I'm good on lead, tin, and antimony with my current mix of metals.

However, I would like to stock up on wheelweights or WW ingots for casting 5.56 without having to mix a bunch of stuff.

There's one guy on Craigslist, that I believe I've bought from before, but he's selling 250# including some Lino and 50/50 solder that I probably don't need and won't separate out the WW ingots.

Anyone have any wheelweights, raw or cast into ingots, they want to sell or have a line on?

I don't, but I do know a guy with a lot that he was planning to scrap.

He isn't giving them away, but should be reasonable on what he wants for them.

IM me and I'll pass you his phone number in South Houston I-45 & Almedea Genoa Rd. Area.

I'll be in Houston in 3 weeks.

Might bring some with me if you want.

I'm a toyota auto mechanic and will be in school Nov 1-3.

Stop at every little tire store you see. Ask, offer cash. I have 1000# now in the garage by doing just that. One place, all I have do is turn some of them nto fishing weights for the guy.

That's 1k# cleaned and ingotized.

Just a note since you are in Houston, hit up the sailboat repair places. There is a lot of lead to be found in keel weights and ballast.  Some I've bought in the past was a really clean 5% antimony mix already in ingots.

I use Lead Products Company on Velasco St. Last time I bought 92/6/2 alloy there for $1.80/lb. The prices changes according to the market so I don't know where its at now. Min buy is 100 lbs. I'd rather do that that scrounge up wheel weights, with their stuff I know exactly what I'm getting.

I've bought from cast boolits. Never cast them and now that I'm closing my warehouse I'll have to find a place to cast.

You probably don't need to be told, but be careful with wheel weights.  Most of the new ones are zinc alloy and are not compatible with most if not all bullet casting setups.  Even one zinc wheel weight in a big batch of lead will ruin it from what I understand.
