We got another inch of rain Monday, Tuesday is the first time we've reached 90 in a week and a half.  IN AUGUST!

I've also got a roof leak somewhere...

Finally got to mow today! There is still a spot that is too swampy to mow so I just buzzed it with the weed whacker.

I'm but a shy, timid transplant who tries to tread lightly, but I have to ask - why does everybody here hate the rain so much? It keeps your lawn green for free, and saves on the water bill. It also keeps the dust and dirt down. Everything looks clean after a good rain. Rain is awesome.

And as long as your tires aren't shit, it's not hard to drive in either.

I think some places have been getting hammered. Houston, for example, seems to flood at the drop of a hat. As a hunter and outdoorsman I tend to welcome the rain to a certain extent because it helps the wildlife. But as you'll learn, Texans like to bitch about the weather. When winter is here they bitch about the cold and when summer is here they bitch about the heat. Pray for rain in the summer but then it rains too much. You get the idea?

Also. Don't trust Texans to drive worth a shit on wet roads.

I've driven all over the world Texans drive as bad as the 'tards south of the border'

It has rained EVERY day in my A.O. here in Clear Lake (NASA land) for two weeks straight.  Not always all day downpours, but enough consistently that I am way behind on my driveway mechanics projects.

This Sunday I was going to clear out the Garage and get some items ready for a family event on the coast this upcoming weekend.   Beautiful Sunday.  (sunshine and blue skies! )  All of a sudden a dark thunderhead rolls in from the coast and in 10 minutes it is pelting heavy rain.  I was running around soaked and trying to put tarps over all the boxes and cursing in a manner that a God fearing Christian shouldn't be doing, especially on a Sunday...

I don't mind if it rains (say between 3-5 am) but I'm sick of Wet Weekends and as my job is outdoors much of the time, all the wet weather is not making my life easy...

Don't get me wrong, we need Rain in Texas.  But too much of a "Good Thing" isn't a "Good Thing"...

Maybe it depends on what part of Texas you're in, and maybe it depends on what you're used to, but I fucking LOVE the way Texans drive in North Texas...

...as long as it isn't raining. Or saturated with heavy traffic.

When the roads are clear, Texans up here are more or less just fine as far as I'm concerned. Me complaining about it would just be nitpicking at this point. You have no idea how shitty Ohio drivers are...

Looks like it's about to get sporty down on the coast.

It's amazing what happens when it rains every day for a week and you are out of the country.

Looks like I've been rained out for the day.

Suggestions for the flower beds. What will kill the grass and not the flowers and shrubs?  I hate pulling weeds.

I lived in and near Ohio up to age 17. The roads here can be different. An old asphalt road can be slick as ice with a little bit of rain when it first starts raining after a few weeks without rain. I am sure you will discover this at some point.
