I am going to need a body shop for some repair work to my 2015 Tacoma after last Friday's storm.  The wind and a tree joined together to put a few dents in my truck

Any recommendations on who to use or who to stay away from are appreciated.

Thanks,
bandaid_man

I am having a second body shop repair a job done by another body shop after hail damage. The hail damage repair tech removed the clear coat in many spots after doing a very good job on getting out the hail dings. Maybe they just skipped that part of the repair. I don't know. I will not post the name of the collision repair facility that did the first attempt for fear of legal troubles from their very large parent company.
I have had bad luck with collision/hail repair overall in the 35 years I have lived in Texas. Every car I have ever owned in those 35 years in the great state of Texas has been damaged by hail. My family has also had our share of collisions. I have dealt with many different types of shops, small to large. You are at the mercy of the people that are repairing your car. Lifetime warranties seem to get you better work. The 1 year warranty shops had given me problems. At the time, the companies with 1 year warranties attraction was "we pay your deductible". I was young, dumb, and full....  You don't see the gimmick ad of "we pay your deductible" on anything but glass repair/replacement these days.

No one yet.  Haven't had time to go by either place suggested.

My ex had some work done at The Body Shop before and did not have a good experience.  I didn't think the job was done well either.  That's why I posted here, hoping for other input.

stay away from herb's in allen.
I had to take it back 4 or 5 times for them to "finish" their work and correct all the issues I found each time I looked at the car.
Even now I find stuff they didn't put back together right.

Paintless dent repair from hail.
First the sun roof cover wouldn't slide unless I used both hands.
They didn't tighten an oh shit grip.
Some covers along the head liner weren't put back
the head liner had hand prints on it the next time around.
Then the sun roof leaked. owned the car since new never had water in the car, and after they work on it I get standing water in the back floor boards.
They didn't want to fix it till I called my insurance company again.

I have been told caliber is the place to go in plano.

That is quite a shit list. I thought I got hosed. Did you keep your temper in check? I swear, some places do this stuff intentionally.

I took it there thinking they do their own work, only to find they farmed it all out.
each time one more thing was jacked up.
after they fixed the sunroof leak, I just gave up.

I still see stuff off each time I walk to my car and it pisses me off, but it isn't worth the hassle.
