There's nothing illegal about "printing" now, is there? I thought they addressed that a couple years ago.

Well the text now reads "intentionally displays the handgun in plain view of another person in a public place."
"Printing" is not a legal term, nor is there any law about it on the books. Carry on

" PRINTING " Is a made up term by tin hat wearing screwballs who have an unnatural fear of cops. As you have read already, nowhere in the laws does it say any such thing. But it does say INTENTIONAL FAILURE TO CONCEAL. Bending over to get a gas can on the ground would not only be a normal movement, but nowhere could that be assumed to be an intentional act to show off your gun. " what did he do maam? ....... he bent over to get that gas can AND I SAW A GUN! " thanks maam, its not illegal, have a nice day " Done. |

I don't understand why numbers is all offended over r2kba's presentation? I've never seen the word "printing" in a statute or anything like that anywhere... Anyone got a link?

I'm not offended over it, I just think his explanation of it was stupid. It's not just a term made up by cop haters to persecute him, it's a common term that just describes the imprint of your gun showing. That's it. It's been used for years in CCW discussions that have nothing to do with cops or laws. Somehow that translates into me saying people have been arrested for it. |

His post was on the money. There is no statute for "printing", only for intentionally failing to conceal. Ie carrying in such a manner as to have the handgun exposed where an average person can tell its pistol. ex trying to carry a pistol in your speedo at the beach, wearing a shoulder rig w/o a cover garment. Un intentional exposure would be gusts of wind blowing your shirt or bending over to pick something up. There is no statute nor definition in the penal code. |
