Iam planing on moving to Denton or Colin county, how is the Sheriff for NFA sign offs in these two counties. Iam looking to buy a house and do not want to get stuck with an NFA unfriendly sheriff.
Thanks

Current Collin County sheriff won't sign unless you personally know him or a personal friend of his. He is retiring, unsure if his successor will sign.

Current Denton County sheriff has made idiotic statements about his views of NFA but maybe he's changed his mind, like some had hoped.  Anybody have updates?

I wouldn't worry about the county sheriff. Just deal with the city police.

OP, why not do a trust and not have to worry about CLEO sign off?

If 41P goes into effect, even trusts will still need CLEO signature.

Yeah, 41P is what I am afraid of.  It would suck to buy a house and get get stuck with with a NFA unfriendly LEO in my town or county.  Iam looking to buy in Lewisville, The Colony, Frisco, Little Elm, Corinth and Denton. Hoping the police chiefs are NFA friendly in those towns.

But we do have NFA Shall Sign working its way through the Legislature.  It was passed by the senate and sent to the house.  Tick tock.......

The current Denton county sheriff thinks you can't be trusted with NFA item. But he'll be out of there next year and the new sheriff will sign. I'd start with your local PD chief.
My local city chief signed my forms in my driveway on the hood of his car.

41P is not going to happen anytime soon. The ATF is still responding to all of the write-ins. It has already been delayed 4 times. Get a trust, protect yourself and family if need be and don't involve the local LEOs.

Took awhile for HR4332 to pass too, but the results were awful.

Don't delay.
