Internet age very few deals. Pawn shops use ebay and craigslist.
I'd start with craigslist.

Competitive Cameras has the very best service and internet prices on camera gear in Dallas. Their service is the best. Think of the best gun store you have ever been into. Like that but with camera gear. I think they have some used stuff too. Online, http://www.fredmiranda.com/ has the best used equipment. Many of the users are professionals and know the market for used stuff. They also won't sell you a problem that requires a repair or has focus issues. Ebay is where problem cameras and lenses are sold. Avoid. Craigslist can be good if you can test the bodies and lenses prior to purchase. |

You'll find actual non-crap for sale on their forum. Anything you find at a pawn shop will be of no use. Every major city has at least one good camera shop to look. |

Buying anything as sensitive as modern cameras from a pawn shop is a gamble -at best |

Arlington Camera used to carry a lot of used stuff. I have not been in there for a long time.
