When did they do this? It's only a matter of time before they get robbed with no one to help.

They derive more than 50% of sales from alcohol.   No surprise there.

I don't think they do.  I have been in BWW in several cities, and none were 51%. The posted sign is not 51%   Of course, It's not 30.06 either.  It has no affect on CHL holders.

Why care?

Then they need a 51% up or get their useless ass fined. The one in Cedar Park has 30.06 signs up, I don't go there, their food sucks big time. I go to Fowlers on 620, really good food/wings, no 51%, no 30.06 I carry there most of the time since I don't drink when out.

Of the 132 locations listed in TABC, only 5 are 51% establishments.

BWW is a well known ant-gun place, signs are up in other states as well.

As a few have said, its not worth getting excited about. Theres plenty of other options.

I dont think the one at 1604/35 here in San Antonio is posted with that, but I havent been there in a long time because, its not that good anyways.

I care and I do the best I can to NOT support any company or individual or industry I know to be anti gun. Period.

IF I don't know, not much I can do about it.
IF I know, I do my best to do business elsewhere when I can and tend to tell store managers
I disagree with corporate policies and I am doing the minimum amount of business with them due to these policies..

but, I'm a cranky old man who's had a gut full of other folks trying to take away the rights of once freer citizens..

The "... bans guns on these premises" signs are the Minnesota equivalent of 30.06.  BWW is headquartered in Minnesota, so apparently they send out those signs to all their restaurants.

I dont think the one at 1604/35 here in San Antonio is posted with that, but I havent been there in a long time because, its not that good anyways.

It's been a few years since I was there, but I carried and didn't see any 30.06.

I guess that applies to the idiots who carry rifles everywhere.

Those signs are posted in any establishment that sells alcohol.

The Alcoholic Beverage Code requires BWW to post that sign:

Sec. 11.041. WARNING SIGN REQUIRED. (a) Each holder of a permit who is not otherwise required to display a sign under Section 411.204, Government Code, shall display in a prominent place on the permit holder's premises a sign giving notice that it is unlawful for a person to carry a weapon on the premises unless the weapon is a concealed handgun the person is licensed to carry under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code.

(b) The sign must be at least 6 inches high and 14 inches wide, must appear in contrasting colors, and shall be displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public. The commission or administrator may require the permit holder to also display the sign in a language other than English if it can be observed or determined that a substantial portion of the expected customers speak the other language as their familiar language.

Added by Acts 1997, 75th Leg., ch. 1261, Sec. 16, eff. Sept. 1, 1997. Amended by Acts 1999, 76th Leg., ch. 62, Sec. 9.18, eff. Sept. 1, 1999.

Amended by:

Acts 2013, 83rd Leg., R.S., Ch. 1302 (H.B. 3142), Sec. 1, eff. June 14, 2013.

My dad was telling me he saw the 51% sign at the one in Midland and I though they probably screwed up posting it but I guess it could be one of the 5.

According to the TABC web site, the Buffalo Wild Wings at 5107 W Wadley Avenue in Midland is not 51%.

I don't think they do.  I have been in BWW in several cities, and none were 51%. The posted sign is not 51%   Of course, It's not 30.06 either.  It has no affect on CHL holders.

Why care?

This.

The first time I visited Texas we went to BWW and I saw one of those "Bans guns on these premises". Took a picture and posted it here, and was told essentially the above.

I don't think the issues is the legality of if you can carry when improperly posted, I think the issues is "Do you want
to give your money to someone who has intentions that are evil?"

I'm usually dissappointed in the shitty service and mediocre food and don't go back until I've forgotten 6 months later.

The problem with corporate owned establishments posting such signs is that quite often, everyone inside that particular store from the general manager to the waitresses is pro-2nd Amendment. They neither support ideologically or in spirit the corporate lawyers position posted at the entrance. They work there and have no influence in what their out of state owners think.

For me, no 30.06 posted and I'm good to go. And in this case, go and eat some wings.

I am not far from the Frisco-ish location on 121. Still need to stop in. The best I have had were from Wing Bucket downtown Dallas. Decent beer selection, too.
