Hey Folks.....I'm staying the rest of the week in the area around Kerrville and Comfort. It was a last minute trip and I have 3 days of free time this week. Where are some interesting places to visit/explore? I like small towns and natural places. I don't mind driving long distance. I've been to Boerne and San Antonio quite a bit, but I'm interested in points west or southwest. Any suggestions? I thought about Camp Verde or the headwaters of the Guadalupe River near Hunt, but I'm not sure if those places are open to public access. Is there anything further southwest that would be interesting?

Thanks is advance,

T.J.

Fredericksburg has a decent little downtown area, shops and stuff. There is one store there that sells hundreds of jams and jellies and jarred goods and they have free samples of all of them.

The wine trail is pretty good, all right by there.

The National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg is excellent, too.

I forgot to mention: while on the wine trail, a tour of the LBJ ranch is quite interesting. I did it MANY years ago, but went back for a new tour now that the house is open for a walk-through tour.
