Hello everyone. We are hosting an overnight Zombie match here in North Texas. The match will take place overnight from Saturday, Oct. 27th to Sunday, Oct. 28th.

The match will be held at T.D.S.A. in Ferris, TX. (Host Range Only)

This is a low light, head shots only pistol / rifle match.

(AR 15/10, AK or other semi-auto rifle, Semi Auto handgun)

This match will be limited to only 125 shooters!

The shooters will have to utilize weapon mounted lights, hand held lights and whatever limited ambient light there may be to clear each stage.

We have an ever growing list of National Sponsors.

We are still welcoming sponsors for this exciting match.

Please message us for sponsorship benefits and levels

Our objective is to provide a safe, fun and challenging match for the shooters and with the help of our sponsors our help, to provide an incredible prize table for them as well.

We have lots of props to build and scenarios to create as we hope to make this a very realistic / apocalyptic style match.

Like our F.B. page (Walking Dead Multi Gun 2012) and follow us for further updates and registration info.

Stay safe!

Can participants use NVGs if they have them?    Might want an extra class.  Would be fun!

TNVC is a site vendor and might could help with the setup of a few stages and sponsorship if the conditions were right.  They might even bring out some of the high dollar toys they have.

Thanks for the input. We are considering this option.  Safety first though! Not that NVG's are unsafe...but there is always "that guy" LOL

Information sent on TNVC.  I think the NVG could actually add safety to your outing if the ROs had them and knew what they were doing.  TNVC could bring that to the game.  They also have a tight vetting process for prospective students of their classes to "qualify" the shooters.

Registration is not yet open.

Adding more sponsors daily!

Age limit is 21 unless shooting with a parent or on a team.

Overwhelming response on this match. It will sell out quickly.

Possibly looking at Friday night as well with a "special division" on Friday night.

Stay tuned!

We just signed Black Rain Ordnance as our Title Match Sponsor!

The prize table is going to be fat!

Thank you Black Rain for your support.

We will give notice before we make registration available.

Like our F.B. Page (you might even see a hint on some of our prizes..)

OK...This is a feeler only! Please don't crush us with questions...

Who would be in for a N.V. division should one be made available?

If we go down this path and get enough serious response there is a CHANCE that we might even run a separate N.V. match on Friday night (10-26).

Simply post:

"Interested in N.V. Shoot"

if you are.

IF we do the N.V. match on Friday night, the N.V. shooters a re welcome to shoot the separate night match on Saturday as well (separate match entry fee for each match, minus the use of N.V.).

AGAIN...This N.V. portion is hypothetical at this point!

What do you think?

would the NOD shooters also compete in the 'other' primary match?

what type of equipment restrictions, if any, might be placed on the NOD competitors?

"IF we do the N.V. match on Friday night, the N.V. shooters a re welcome to shoot the separate night match on Saturday as well (separate match entry fee for each match, minus the use of N.V. for the Sat night match)."

NOD Restrictions are yet to be determined.

Hypothetical here guys!

I would be there for the NVG shoot definitely.  I might come for the night shoot with just visible lights.

Why wouldn't you want to let the NVG folks shoot the next night with the visible folks too?  It would make for an interesting head to head comparison.   The new autogated Gen 3 NVG gear is capable of working around ambient lighting with impunity.

Sounds like you are ready to rock.

N.V. will be a separate division and or a separate match all together.

Sounds like fun huh?

[#32]
so if one wanted to shoot both the NOD event and then also the primary competition (which may include a night shoot), then it would be two match entry fees???

If we went that way , two separate matches & two separate prize table...then yes it would sir.

We signed Tactical Night Vision Company (T.N.V.C.) as a GOLD Level Sponsor Today!

We also Signed Advanced Armament Corp. as a GOLD Sponsor!

Thank you to all of our partners!

This is turning into a great prize table and an awesome "secret" stage for our shooters!

The primary shoot IS a night shoot.  The NOD shoot (should it take place) would be a separate shoot on a separate night)

So here is the deal. We walked the stages again today and revisited the topic of the NODs (NV) shoot.
Long story short, we concluded that there is no way to do it safely without a vetting process. We know that many of you could safely compete in a NODs match but we much consider the shooter at the lowest level of training and consider the safety concerns that he would bring to the shoot. We have designed some very challenging courses without adding the N.V. factor to it.  Your safety is our #1 concern!  Thank you for understanding.

We will run the Walking Dead Multi Gun night shoot as planned on Saturday night (10-27).

Shooters will have the option of running Tac optics or Tac Irons. AR-15, AR-10 or AK for rifles and a semi-auto pistol(9mm min.). No lasers allowed.

THIS IS A NIGHT SHOOT GUYS. It will be VERY dark! You will need weapon mounted, hand held and or head mounted lights so plan your kit accordingly. We will post the full set of rules next week when we open the registration. (standard multi gun rules)

We will see each of you soon.

Stay safe!

Great advice. We use green a lot as well. We will leave it up to the shooter to figure out what works best for them.  We have some great stages planned for this one!

If its standard 3 gun rules, does that mean 2 shots any where on target is good to go or is it still head shots only?  I'll be at the shoot either way

Thanks

Head shots unless otherwise specified.  We will post the rules before the match.  We have some really great stages planned!

projected round counts?
Link Posted: 9/1/2012 10:11:45 PM EDT
[#47]
Single head shots or shots on steel, or enough rounds to knock down falling steel will neutralize the undead!  If you shoot it clean then you won't require more than 150 total rounds.  An exact count of rifle or pistol is hard to achieve because many of the stages can be shot with either weapon. A few hundred round of both pistol and rifle should do the trick.  We will not limit rounds for this match unless otherwise specified in a stage briefing.

We will open registration next week...

We will announce it in advance...

Have your finger on the trigger!

The bays are anywhere from 10 yds to 300 yds.  I suspect that the longest will be about 200 yds...even with NVDs a shot that far in the dark is difficult (my experience, with Gen I and II, and Gen I thermal).

I went out there today to take a look see at hat has changed.  That .22 rimfire plate setup is tempting.

Thanks MM.

There will varied distances from up close and personal to far reaching in the dark.
