THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I just sold some AR stuff to some guy in VA. He payed via paypal and provided a shipping address. I pulled the address up on google maps but looks to be a field with a house about 1000ft away and nothing else around. My question, If I send this via UPS...what assurance would I have if this guy says he never got it and demands his money?

Thanks in advance.

Send it insured and "adult signature required"? Costs extra, but they can't claim that nobody signed for it that way. Oh, and sometimes UPS f***s up and doesn't actually do it... but then the bad is on UPS if they failed to get a signature and just left the item there.

Google and Mapquest are good, but faaaar from perfect. The empty field, vacant lot, etc happens quite a lot.
As posted above, signature on delivery with insurance.

I decided to use USPS with delivery confirmation. I'm sure USPS would have bitched if the address provided was not a physical address..wish me luck...

If you google the mailing address for my house, you'll see an arrow next to a rural FM road with no houses in sight unless you zoom out. The mailbox is at the end of my driveway and the house is 4000' feet north. Your buyer may just live on a farm or ranch.

You do realize that Paypal is anti-gun so disputes can be problematic.

PalPal isn't as much antigun as they are anti litigation, anti bad publicity and anti violating the laws of several countries where they do business.......unfortunately commerce in firearms is highly regulated and therefore not worth the hassle it brings on them. Use PayPal at your own risk for a firearms transaction.
As far as firearm parts and accessories.......PayPal has no problem.

Regarding "machine tools"............really? I hope you are not actually shipping a firearm interstate to someone who does not hold a Federal Firearms License.....so why the "machine tools" obfuscation?
EDIT I read your EE ad.....nothing in that ad for PayPal to get pissed about.

Since PayPal permits using their service for buying and selling firearm parts there is no reason to use the old "its just machine tools" secret code......unless you wish to hide the fact that you are actually selling a firearm.

A friend of mine lived 1/2 mile off a county road. The USPS guy would just put mail in the mailbox near the road. If something didnt fit, hed just drive up to the house. His house isnt visible from the road. Alot of houses around here live away from the main roads, and they get their mail just fine.
