There is a job opening in Greybull that I am considering applying for.  What is the area like?  I grew up in Billings, so am familiar with places such as Cody and Sheridan but know nothing of Greybull.  Any help would be appreciated.

Greybull is a real small town, but not a bad place, right at the foot of the Big Horn Mtn's so amazing rec opportunities. The only fast food place in town, other than gas stations, is the A&W. About 45 minutes to Cody.

What all else do you want to know?

Thanks for the info.  I was just wanting to make sure it was more optically pleasant than Cheyenne.

Nice river (Greybull) through town, badlands and desert between Greybull and Cody, well Burlington is in between as well. I have actually thought of buying a house over there as my work schedule would make the drive not a big issue. The mountains east of Greybull are amazing in my book, and they are only about 20 minutes away.

I have visited there in the past, I have a friend who is in her 90's that her family homesteaded in that area back in the 1920's

Small, but I like the area, it is nice.

Some of the real estate up towards Shell Canyon is unbeleivable.    I would live there.    Anywhere in the Big Horn Basin is pretty fantastic, IMHO.

The dike along the river isn't there for just the walkway.   It's there for when the river freezes up and starts an ice jam.  Remember that when considering buying down near the river.
