A legal initiative has commenced to pursue gaining the right to Open Carry a Handgun for Wilderness Protection. This initiative is not for CCW or any form of urban carry rights and only applies to Open Carry on rural and Crown land.

Firearms Act lawyer, Richard A. Fritz and Constitutional Law lawyer, Gerry Chipeur, partner of the national firm Miller Thomson have both been consulted in regards to the initial steps. Gerry Chipeur is very enthusiastic about moving forward and a group of us met on Nov 14 to continue to expand and build upon our efforts.

A Facebook group has been created and currently acts as a home base for this initiative. After 14 days it has exceeded 2500 members and is growing at a rapid rate. There you can learn more, ask questions, share your opinion and if you deem the initiative worthy, partner with and support this initiative. Almost $10,000 has been raised in 4 days for the legal retainer. Outdoors enthusiasts from 8 provinces have contributed financially so far.
