Gonna be coming up there tomorrow for about a week on a work trip, but I should have a few days off. What is there to do around there?

If you make it off George St before the week is over you will be doing good. it has more bars on it then any other street in the world I think.
Newfoundlanders are among the nicest people you'll ever meet. Just ask anyone what you should check out while you are there. If you go to a bar..tell the bartender you want to become an Honorary Newfie.
We have our quota of childish idiots in the site, so we do not need any more at this time. If any of them leave, we will let you know that we have a vacancy so that you can take their place

Most definitely.

There are plenty of bars and drinking to be had if you can afford drinking in Canada. Being summer there are a lot of nice sights around. Some quick trips include going out to cape spear, which is the most easterly point in North America and has some of the old WW2 fortifications still. Decent tourist stuff to do around town with some museums, the Qidi Vidi brewery is fun to tour. Signal hill makes for a strenuous running route if you've been used to flat land like I was. If you've got a car there is some nice scenery going down the Avalon peninsula if you just want to go driving for a while. A few golf courses but not too many, but some do have nice views.

My Mom and Dad are actually on their way to Corner Brook right now, to visit my Grandparents. My Mom was born in Buchan's and raised in Corner Brook and Gilliams. My folks met in 1968, in Goose Bay, labrador, when my Dad was stationed there with the U.S. Air Force and my mom was working as a nanny for a couple from Corner Brook who were living there.

Ouch, lol.

I had a great time while I was there, but my trip got cut a little short, the weather was beautiful the 5 days I was there, and it started dnowing as we were taking off to leave.

Had a pretty productive trip though, found lots of Ice Bergs(its what we were up there for, IIP, Internation Ice Patrol.) We flew a lot though so we only got one day off, spent some time downtown, doing the whole "tourist" thing, and got to do the signal hill trail. Boy was that a hike lol.

I think were done with the IIP's for the season thoguh, but Im gonna try and get on a few more heading up there next year when we start doing them, I had a blast up there.
