Obviously someone at the state department feels headlamps represent a significant threat if they get into the wrong hands. And there is a very long list of other innocous items that have made it onto the list. It's bureaucracy gone nutz! |

I don't know if I should be amused or scared about some of the silliness caused by 911. |

We live in the greatest bureaucracy on the planet! If we had something exclusive that was not available elsewhere then this type of regulation might make sense. But you can buy guns in Canada if you have a license, they are readily available in stores, so why do we impose all these bureacratic hurdles that do nothing apart from choke off legitimate trade.

Weather Tech floor mats are restricted due to ITAR. I sleep better at night knowing this.

Maybe we should start a thread listing all the rediculous ITAR regulated items, we could offer an award for the most rediculous.

Scope rings. Switches and bulbs for Surefire flashlights, Scopes, ammo. Pretty much anything in the Brownells catalog over a hundred bucks. Its stupid. There are alot of companies in the US that won't send anything to Canada, however innocent because they don't want to deal with the cost incurred and the regs of the State Dept and BATF. Free trade my ass.
