...if this action is so "popular," then why are snipers and police needed to protect workers (wearing body armor) in removing a monument in the night season. eh?

Under the cover of darkness, the monument was removed in the early hours of April 24, 2017, a day that was observed in Mississippi and Alabama as Confederate Memorial Day. With heavy police presence, workers were protected by bulletproof jackets and police snipers. New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu stated that the statue would be moved into storage before being relocated into "a museum or other facility."

The monuments belong to the people of Louisiana, not Mitch the Bitch and the NO City Council.  John Bel should step in and stop this, but as he is a Dimm, it will never happen.  No way Nungesser will get a bill through the Legislature in time to stop it, and JBE would probably not sign anyway.

Fuck all of them!
