it is that time of year again...
To open some beers, and start cooking some boudin for the tailgate
That is right it is football season!!!
And with Saints first game tonight
I thought I would start a thread about beloved football teams here in Louisiana

Football has a rich long standing tradition in our state
So lets talk about some football that is played here the bayou state.

Friendly trash or full on bleeding purple and gold support everything is welcome

Highschool football is also welcome for discussion or just general bragging about.

Pictures of games you go to, food you cooking, TV set-ups for the game tailgateing all photos are welcome

This is also a special year for the Saints as they celebrate 50 years as a franchises.

Here is hopefully to another great, safe and winning football season to LOUISIANA!!!!

Link to last years thread.

Any one got a update on
Colby Delahoussaye leg?

http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_216f3fbc-51d0-11e6-bbe9-e32079f992e8.html

Brandon Harris let hope he holds it together.

And after last year, wonder how Les will turn out this year.

That early by-week for the saints, is going to suck when heading down the stretch in Mid November & December.

But I would still put money on Carolina winning the Division again this year

Geaux Tigers!  I can't wait for the season to start.  I'm hoping for a much improved team. I told my son we'd go to a game this year (he'll be 4), so now I need to figure out which will be best.

I didn't realize that Delahoussaye was in that wreck also.  He's lucky he made it.

I've got two questions:

How hard is it to get tickets to Tigers games?  Doesn't have to be Alabama, but just for something fun to do with the family.  Looking at the web site, I can't figure out if you have to make a big donation to the boosters first before you can buy tickets, or what the deal is.  I've never tried to get into a big college football game before, other than an Air Force Academy game or two, but that's not quite apples to apples.

Same question for Saints games.  My wife is a Broncos fan, and I'd love to take her to the game in New Orleans this fall.  I imagine by game day, the Broncos will be pretty much out of it.  But it seems like as of right now, defending Super Bowl Champions = $$$$ for tickets to that game. Maybe tickets will drop if they aren't as desirable of a game by that time.

The three places I would check.
For tickets.
Those are both national ticket sellers.
http://www.ticketmaster.com/search?tm_link=tm_header_search&=&user_input=lsu&q=lsu
http://www.stubhub.com/lsu-football-tickets/performer/8987/

If you want to go the more individual route, and not from a company with there fees and services .
I would check Tigerdroppings.com
They are kind of like ar15.com of LSU and Saints football.
http://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/lsu-tickets/
Or heck even ask here, you never know...
Who might have tickets to a game they can not go to.

If it is your first time going, there is nothing that can quite describe tailgating at LSU

But for Saints game I have always bought the day of from random guy out side the stadium selling them.
If you go this route, my two tips are. The closer you get to the stadium the cheaper they seem to get.
And  buy actual tickets, NOT the printed out ones.

Please post photos, and stories of the game you go to, they are loved here.

I would go for the Southern Miss game on October 10th.
It will be a blow out win for LSU, and will probably the lease attended game of the year.
Because of how it falls, and they fact it will be a blow out.

Also in Saints news, our first round draft pick broke his Fibula yesterday.

Well damn it!

It is going to be a long painfull season with Brandon Harris as QB.
Damn it

Is it too soon to bring up the conversation again about replacing Les Miles?

I didnt know that conversation ever stopped.  At least it never did with us.  I've hated his coaching style ever since his first game at LSU.

Apparently not.

I figured they'd wait 'til the end of the season, but at least they did something decisive this time.

Looks like Les Miles is fired
Along with Cam Cameron

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/report-lsu-fires-head-coach-les-miles-204238731.html

While I thought we need to get rid of him.
I never think firing a coach mid season is a good idea.

Long term who can we replace him with.

It was going to be anyway.
Now, at least they can get someone in who will get them going in the right direction.
Hopefully.

Definitely sucks. His first year was the last time we won a championship and his last is the year Miles leaves.

We went and saw him not too long ago. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_8_58/602854_Poor_Mike.html

I wonder if the Peta-tards will prevent us from getting another one. Maybe we could get the one from the gas station across the river.

So we are alittle over half way through the college football season.

And LSU is 5-2

with 4 games left.
And Bama after the by week

How is everyone feeling / thinking?

Also La Tech is looking pretty good also.

Well damn, I am not sure, what to say about the lose.

But they did hold them, and did not get blown out.
The Offence  could just not get things going.

But how about LA_TECH they are on top Conference USA so way to go there!

And yayyy to the Saints beating the 49er's this weekend.

It was one hell of an exciting game though.  I love defensive matchups like that.  We just tired before they did.

They would be wise to keep Orgeron.  They won't get anyone better than him and he truly loves the team. He's done a better job than most anyone else could do under the same circumstances.

I do not know if I am all in on Jimbo Fisher or not?

And Coach O loves the tigers

What are yall's thoughts?

I thought is might be fun to see Chip Kelly at LSU.
But I just do not now about JimBo Fisher

Looks awesome.

I'm honestly not sure on the coaching situation. I agree that O seems well liked and a good face of the team, but that Florida game revealed some weakness. Fisher has good experience, but he might want to stay in Florida. Fingers crossed we don't get boned on whoever takes the reigns.

If you are watching the LSU and watching the scroll at the bottom
They are sounding like it is pointing towrds Tom Hermann.

He is still alittle green in my opinion

Also just a quick game tip for any watching with family.

When LSU scores.
Do NOT yell " Suck that tiger dick B*tch !! "
When you are sitting with your future mother-in-law.
No matter how many Jack & Cokes you have had.
Which at this are pretty much straight Jack at this point in the night.

UPDATE
The possible future mother-in-law, and S/O when out Black Friday shopping.
Turns out I kind of aggravated a relative, that MIL did nOt like.
And she thought it was funny.
The MIL also bought me a new LSU hat, and had it waiting for me when I got home from work.
And the possible future mother-in-law   likes me more now, than before.

HAHA! I could party with you!

We were at my wife's cousins wedding and we had been tossing them back. The end rolls around and she says "stick a fork in me, I'm done". Then I tell her "oh, I'm definitely gonna stick something in you"- in front of her parents, grandparents and 2 sets of aunts and uncles

Sorry I have been sleeping on the job and not updated this like I should have.

But it is my favorite time College Bowl Season, and Christmas.

And Bowl Season kicked off this past Saturday with
Congratulations   Grambling winning the first Bowl Game of the season, beating North Caroline Central in the Celebration Bowl.
This was followed up on later in the day with Louisiana Lafayette in the  New Orleans Bowl but this ended in a loss for the Ragin Cajuns.

Next Bowl Game is Friday the 23rd featuring La TECH vs Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth.
My Money is on La TECH especially with Navy's QB still out with a injury.

And the Big Bowl Game for Louisiana teams will be on New Years Eve at 11:00
With the LSU Tigers taking on Louisville, and Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson
In the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl, in Orlando FL.

For this game I think LSU, is the better over all team; even with out Leonard Fournette.  I really wanted to see him one more time run the ball for the Purple & Gold, but I understand.
But it is still at 11:00am kick off, and LSU just does not get up for those early games.
On the plus side, even thought LSU will not have Fournette.
Louisville will be with out there Offensive Coordinator, Lonnie Galloway.

Also Congratulations To the High Schools that won.

With End of regular season football this past weekend.

I think we can out this thread to bed for another year.

New Orleans finish 7- 9
And will have the 11th pick in the draft.
And it is time to start the talk about replacing Drew Brees & Shawn Payton

On the college football front.
Chreers to Grambling for winning there down game.

And Way to go LATECH on winning one of the best games of the bowl season this year.
And winning there last three bowl games in a row.

And LSU
what a crazy year, with firing Les Miles & hiring Coach Ed Orgeron.
The passing of Mike.
And beating the mess out Louisville & Lamar Jackson.

Heres to another great year of Louisiana football in the books and looking ahead to the next.
