Hello Gents,
I joined the waiting list awhile back and haven't heard from them yet...

Curious if anybody on here shoots there and has any idea of how long the backlog is. I live in Portsmouth and am looking forward to having someplace close to occasionally shoot

You could drive a few more minutes and join Major Waldrons.

I hate to be rude, but I never understood why some gun clubs restrict their membership numbers.

YMMV.

From what I've experienced the numbers are limited because these types of clubs are all volunteer not for profit organizations and once you get to a certain number of members the admin becomes a full time job.

I don't think it's to keep people out it just gets to be so much work it's not possible to keep up with when you only have volunteer help.

It's different than Granite State Range and Manchester Firing Line where they have a full time staff and work for profits.

Just my 2 cents.

Good suggestion... I'll consider that.

Hope to hear from them soon

Thanks

There are also a couple of other clubs very close by on the Maine side of the border.  South Berwick Rod and Gun  and Southern Maine Fish and Game in Eliot.  I am a former member of SBRG and am a current member of SMF&G.

True, very true... but if I recal, that club and many others like it are "close" to housing. For many clubs it's a matter of time before someone fusses enough about the noise and their children. At least in my mind, having a club with a potentially larger base could stand up to the opposition than one with limited numbers. Not at all saying this is or will be the case to the club in question, but I have seen similar outcomes when I lived in other states.
