Receiving FFL states that it must be sent from an FFL down here in a free state.  Is that a law or just a store policy?

It costs $40 to bother an FFL down here with this nonsense

It's store policy -but fairly common here.

Many FFLs impose that to help feed their fellow FFLs.

Charge that to the buyer. No reason you should eat that expense as the seller.

During the post Sandy Hook buying frenzy I sold a pre ban AR in to MA.  As stated by the posters above, I had no problem shipping it myself.

Just box it up and ship it yourself. He can't ship it back to you.

Asshat refuses to pay the $40 to get it to a dealer.  I already have the base amount.

He's paying $30 for 5 rd mags and won't pay $40 to my dealer.

Ship it yourself and don't worry about it. Let the buyer pay his FFL transfer fee and everybody wins.

He needs to find another FFL that will take from an individual.

Call the deal off. If he springs this cost on you after the deal was made, the cost is his responsibility. Don't eat the cost.

There are dealers here in MA that will accept from a non-licensee. This is totally on the buyer.
