On 13 Sept there will be a Primary Election to determine the Democrat party Candidate in RI House District 72. The Candidates are former RI Rep Linda Finn,
founding member of the RI Coalition Against Gun Violence, and newcomer James Cawley, a local businessman whose viewpoints on firearms are unclear.
Suffice it to say that Cawley could hardly be worse than Finn, who is a die-hard anti-gunner of the worst type. Some may recall that she introduced a wide-ranging "Assault Weapons Ban" a while back, which might have cost her her seat at that time. Well, she wants back in in the worst way. It's up to us to disappoint her.
If you are either a registered Democrat, or a registered Unaffiliated/Independent voter in district 72, you can vote in the Democrat primary, hopefully
against Finn.
Consult Portsmouth and/or Middletown halls for times/locations of PRIMARY voting places, and go vote.
Make a special point to tell your like-minded friends and neighbors. You can be sure that Finn will be pulling out all the stops to get elected again. A primary usually has very low turnout, so your vote counts
far beyond what you might think. This is an example of the Primary actually being the Election.
GO TELL OTHERS AND GO VOTE FINN AWAY!
