I was at a Walmart in NH the other day.It seems they had several firearms on clearance.I bought a  Ruger American in .243.Reg price $387,clearance price $89 new in box.
Don't know if it is a regional thing or just that store but it could be worth a look if any Walmart near you has firearms.
They also had marlin .17,reg price 209,clearance 49 bucks.Didn't buy one but I should have.

Might be worth asking them to scan it to check the price in their system. There was a thread in g d a while back about the sale on the ruger Americans. I don't know that they are a great rifle or anything but that's a fantastic price.
