Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Question about permanently attaching comp to 9mm barrel

I was planning to have the comp pinned and welded but the barrel looks very thin around the threads so I'm thinking that there's not enough material for a pin. Is there an alternative method that would be legal?  And did I mention that the gun laws in this state are ridiculous?
