Odd it doesn't show the Bearcat Gloucester county has. I was speaking with a game warden in Salem county who has an M14 in the rack of his truck. Not sure if the fun switch was still there, I didn't know him that well to ask.

More importantly...  why can't we get in on those deals?  5.56mm rifles for $499?  7.62mm rifles for $138?

We should create an LE agency, Lion_Dog. I propose we call it "The People". Hell, we should even have an amendment which says The People can have and carry their guns.

That'd be nuts.

Would that be a "civilian national security force, just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded, as our military"?

The reason so many M14's are floating around is because during the 90's when that gvt. surplus program made M16's available to local pd's they ran out quickly.
Lots of pd's were offered M14's instead and took them.
Trenton has a bunch of M14's they got from Ft. Belvoir- I don't know if the full auto was locked out on them or not, but it would be easy to switch them back.
Even the average cop armorer (who could fuck up a bowling ball) could probably do it.

My former department received a few, the fun switch was deactivated but not a big deal to rectify that, talk was of getting some beta mags for them.
