Just found out yesterday I'll be PCSing to McGuire next month. I've never actually been to New Jersey before , so I can't say I know too much about it. Thinking about living across the river in PA so I can keep all my guns, but not 100% sure yet.

Welcome and yes if you truly want to bee free if ridiculous gun laws live in PA. State income tax is a lot lower in PA too.

Like I tell all folks who drop these moving to NJ notes I say......do everything you can not to.   It's the Kommunist Republik of New Jersikstan. Putin picked NJ over Crimea initially and found it to be a bit to communist for his taste so he moved. Anti gun and socialist to the core. Even our republicans would be democrats in a republican state. Our own republican governor pushed the assault weapon ban here when he was AG.
