THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I can’t believe I just wasted $89 on a Mosin. WTF am I going to do with that? A half-hour’s worth of 7.62x54 ammo costs as much as the rifle.

It’s a sickness and we all need help.

What have you bought recently? Please share.

I just bought an upper and some other parts yesterday to finish some builds I've been working on. I'll have two more complete AR's by the end of the week

I picked up a Marlin bolt action 22. I felt I needed a better bolt 22 then the one I already had.

Yup. I want to pick up a savage 30, falling block 22. This way I'll have at least one 22 of each action; falling block, bolt, pump, lever and semi. Why you ask? Why not I answer.

They are rare but Steyr actually made a ban compliant version of the AUG called the USR. Also, the MSAR and TPD AUG clones are legal here. So yeah it is entirely possible to own all the guns on that list here in NJ.

ETA: before anyone tells me that you can't own a Sturmgewehr here, google "PTR-44"

that group was my gunsmith's doing after tuning the gas a bit... i haven't had a chance to get it out yet and prove it with a few 10 shot groups.

the scope is a US Optics SN3 T-PAL 3.2-17.

the build itself is a JD machine PR3 upper and lower, daniel defense 12.0 lite rail, 18" rock creek 5R 1:11.25 twist with perm attached surefire brake.

no... it's not 5.56, 7.62. it was originally developed for weights in the range of 175gr... i'll tend towards the 168-175 range.

while i don't reload, my brother does and we might work up a few loads to see what it likes best. but, i'm sure i'll stick with 168-175 FGGM, etc.

Ah. Thanks.

If that piece produces that kind of a group with factory (maybe premium, don't know) ammo - that is one helluva build and pretty damn good Gunsmith.

Here she is. She is an Izhmash from 1943 (I think we will call her "Olga" ).
She came home on Tuesday and I just finished putting the finishing touches on her this morning. My ammo order arrived yesterday. I hope the wife will let me take her out on a date this weekend.

Got one of the builds pretty much completed last night, still needs a sling but is otherwise done. Specs are as follows:

Spikes Tactical lower, parts kit, and BCG
Spikes Tactical 14.5" midlength upper with pinned Dynacomp and 12" BAR handguard
Aimpoint CompML2 with American Defense AD-68 mount
Magpul MBUS Gen 2 sights

If sighting your rifle in any way involves a brass hammer and oak 2-x-4s, you might own a Mosin-Nagant.

Took the Mosin to the range Friday afternoon, but the sights were too far off to have any fun. Heading back tomorrow morning with a proper Russian sight adjustment kit.
