Pedestrian crossing, no parking inside the squiggly lines to provide clear line of sight to road users of anyone on the crossing. Pedestrians on the crossing have right of way over motor vehicles on the road.

It means the guys doing the painting were busy yelling "Get out of the crosswalk, we're trying to paint some lines here and we're sick of you damn tourists clogging it up! John Lennon would have hated you!" and so they were unable to paint a straight line.

Funny you should mention that, just recently back from Edinburgh, was on the 44 bus when they were painting those lines, the driver ran right over what they just painted. Yelling in Scots accent ensued. |
