It is standard industry practise to void a warranty if homeloaded ammo is used, but i believe the unicorn instructions specifically warn against it ? That gun has had either a squib and another behind it, or its fired out of battery. Wont put me off, i,m on the lookout for one myself, either new or s/h. I reckon there could be a second hand one on the market soon. ![]() |

Just been pointed to a nice looking example.
I just fancy one to complete my collection really. Cheap shooting too, much like the marlin, but in a nicer platform. I know what you mean about too many guns Mark, but bugger it...you are only here once aren't you ? |

I wanted to get one too Dave but as a lefty Its a right handed only gun. I tried it and even with glasses it's a no go as so much crap comes out the side when shooting it. Now the mk2 Glock version is out in left side ejecting , as well as right, it still has r/h lever release so you need 2 thumbs to work it.
I don't have 2 thumbs on my left hand ! |

As others have said, its probably not best for us to speculate....
But a few week back there was some guy on another forum who was saying he was having feed problems with his new SGC. His plan was to start crimping the rounds to prevent the case mouth catching as the rounds fed into the chamber. If someone has done this and changed the headspace is this the result.....? |

I got one and after 5 rounds had streaming eye's even with glasses on (gases/crap came in the sides) and found I fast lever action wasn't the best, as its on the wrong side for me (you have to use your trigger finger instead of your thumb) which kinda defeats the issue. sure it can be overcome, like a R/H bolt but its not ideal.............. I am sure bob will sort out what went wrong........... out of battery sounds like a possible to me.............. |

A quick question as I cannot be bothered to luck it up,what is the max case capacity of the 9mm.The reason I
ask is 3.5gns seems low and I thought unicorns needed max capacity to operate. |

4.9gr is the max load for 125gr lead with Bullseye according to Alliant, remember with lead you usually decrease the charge compared to the same weight FMJ bullet.

4 grains of bullseye over a 115 grain jacketed bullet or 3.2 grains of bullseye over a lead gm hard cast bullet. Well that's what I'm using, must have shot 11,000+ by now no issues. Still makes me laugh this bullet head thing people keep going on about

Fat Bob.
He's obviously no saint & his people skills are not going to have the UN tapping him up for middle east negotiations. But...I've never had issue with his face to face service. He's always been happy for me to visit the workshop @ little to no notice when visiting the folks etc. Always a cup of tea....the dog has always tried to bite me everytime however !
Fact is, 2nd to Mark, I see a different Bob who has helped me....still fat, but not a cunt ! Enjoy the Unicorn Baldie |

The Unicorn has been checked by SGC and hardly surprisingly the blame has been placed on the ammo which was PPU factory ammo at the time of failure. The supplier, (not SGC) is arranging forran independent report.
Keep watching folks....... |
